Ripon CAB has been involved with
a large
number of high profile campaigns. For example, we have campaigned to
make
changes to the tax credits system, improve consumer rights, protect
tenants’
deposits and reduce health costs. We pass our clients’ experiences on
(anonymously) to our national organisation, Citizens Advice. Look at
some of
the reports they produce here.
One of our current campaigns is
about
benefit simplification.
We think that the tax credits
and benefits
system should be fairer, and easier to understand. Some of our
suggestions are
being put into practice. Read a report written by one of our staff here,
which was published by the Government. Read what the Government
minister had to
say about it here.
If you have experienced a
problem which
you think we should be campaigning about, get in
touch.
We are always happy to support people who want to share their stories
with the
media or have their ideas raised with
policy-makers.
However, if you want, you can be totally anonymous.
